He doesn’t tell them to rebel, he just reminds them that there’s more to life than achievement, that words and ideas have power, and that living fully often means daring to think differently. The moment he steps into the classroom, the film changes tone. The air feels lighter, the world brighter, as if hope has found a way to slip through the cracks.

Through Mr. Keating’s lessons, poetry stops being something to memorize and becomes something to feel. Standing on desks, ripping textbook pages, reading verses with passion, all these moments feel small but meaningful, like sparks of freedom in a place built to suppress it. Sinopsis Singkat (tanpa spoiler besar)

Film ini mengadaptasi arc “Infinity Castle” dari manga Demon Slayer, yang merupakan bagian dari pertarungan klimaks antara Korps Pembasmi Iblis dan Muzan Kibutsuji bersama rekan‐rekan iblis tingkat atas (Upper Moon).

Intinya, Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, Inosuke, dan para Hashira menghadapi medan tempur berbahaya di dalam kastil tak berujung (Infinity Castle) yang penuh jebakan dan ilusi. Mereka terpecah, diuji, dan dipaksa menahan tekanan mental dan fisik ketika menghadapi musuh yang semakin kuat. 

Karena ini adalah film pertama dari trilogi Infinity Castle, film ini menyajikan fondasi konflik besar sekaligus menyisipkan momen emosional dan aksi yang intens, tapi belum menyelesaikan seluruh konflik utama. 

Kelebihan Film

Berikut poin‑poin yang sangat diapresiasi dalam Infinity Castle:

1. Visual & animasi memukau
   Ufotable dikenal dengan kualitas animasi tinggi mereka dan di film ini mereka menunjukkan itu dengan adegan pertarungan yang halus, efek ilusi yang kompleks, serta desain latar yang detil. Banyak pengulas memuji adegan aksi sebagai salah satu yang terbaik di seri ini. 

2. Musik & skor yang emosional
   Kolaborasi Yuki Kajiura dan Go Shiina kembali hadir dalam skor yang dramatis dan menyentuh, mendukung suasana tegang maupun sedih dengan efektif. 

3. Emosi & karakterisasi
   Film ini tidak hanya fokus pada aksi, tetapi juga menyelami konflik batin para karakter, terutama Tanjiro dan anggota Korps Pembasmi Iblis. Moment-moment pengorbanan, hubungan antar karakter, dan beban tanggung jawab terasa nyata. 

4. Ambisi naratif
   Karena ini adalah bagian pertama dari trilogi, film ini dibangun dengan pondasi konflik besar ke depan. Ada kesan bahwa cerita ini ingin dibawa ke skala epik dan tidak setengah‑setengah dalam klimaksnya.

Kekurangan / Kritik

Tidak ada film yang sempurna. Berikut beberapa catatan kritis terhadap Infinity Castle:

1. Pacing & pembagian cerita
   Karena ini hanya bagian pertama dari trilogi, ada bagian cerita yang terasa “terpotong” atau belum selesai sepenuhnya. Beberapa arc dan pertarungan yang diharapkan penuh intensitas belum digarap seutuhnya di film ini, sehingga terasa penggenapan konflik akan tergantung pada film selanjutnya. Beban eksposisi & latar belakang karakter

2. Bagi penonton yang kurang akrab dengan seri Demon Slayer atau manga-nya, ada momen-momen di mana banyak informasi latar diberikan secara cepat, yang bisa membingungkan atau terasa “berat” di bagian tengah film. Beberapa kritik menyoroti bahwa film ini lebih cocok dinikmati oleh penggemar seri daripada penonton baru. (Catatan: ini adalah kesan umum dari ulasan penggemar dan kritikus) 

3. Ekspektasi terlalu tinggi

Bagi penggemar seri, film ini sangat direkomendasikan — pengalaman di layar lebar (IMAX / layar premium) akan memberikan dampak yang maksimal. Untuk penonton baru, film ini tetap bisa dinikmati, tapi mungkin ada bagian yang terasa berat atau membingungkan tanpa latar belakang seri.

Jika saya memberikan rating (menurut skala subyektif), saya akan menempatkan film ini di kisaran 8.5 / 10 — nilai tinggi karena kelebihan‑kelebihannya jauh melebihi kekurangan, meskipun belum sempurna sebagai bagian pertama dari trilogi.

500 Days of Summer

 There are love stories that change your life, and there are love stories that teach you why some people can't stay. They are meant to teach us something before they fade. That's what 500 days of Summer captures, it isn't a movie about soulmates or villains, but about how two people can care deeply for each other and still end up wrong.

Through Tom's Eyes, it's easy to see Summer as careless or cold. But the film never really tells her side of the story. Summer doesn't walk into Tom's life intending to break him. She enjoys his company, lets him see sides of her most people never do, shares spaces that matter to her. That's not nothing. Deep down, she does care for him. Tom chases the meaning; Summer chases the feeling. And somehow they both end up heartbroken.

The brilliance of Marc Webb's direction and the screenplay by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber lies in how real it feels. The nonlinear structure, jumping from the highs of day 1 and the lows of day 400, mirrors the day we remember love; not in order but in flashes. It's messy, nostalgic, and painfully familiar.

Neither character is showed as "innocent". Tom idealizes Summer, falling for an image he creates rather than the person she truly is. Summer, meanwhile, lets his affection blur the boundaries she never should have crossed. The story isn't about right or wrong, it's about timing, expectation, and how genuine feelings can unravel when two people don't want the same thing. They both falter, and the marks they leave on each other shape who they become long after the credits roll.

Zooey Deschanel brings Summer to life with just the right mix of warmth and mystery, she's not cruel, just complicated. Joseph Gordon Levitt captures Tom's heartbreak with raw sincerity making his confusion and hope feel painfully real. Together, their chemistry feels authentic because it's imperfect.

500 Days of Summer isn't really a romance; it's a reflection. It reminds us that love doesn't always fail because a person stops caring. It fails because the two has different perspective on "love" and maybe, that's okay. And no matter how much you hope it'll work out, somethings love isn't enough to make two people fit. In another life, maybe the could've work. But in this one, they were just two people who met at the wrong page of the same story.

20th Century Girl

20th Century Girl adalah film Korea yang rilis tahun 2022 di Netflix. Film ini dibintangi oleh Kim Yoo-jung, Byeon Woo-seok, Roh Yoon-seo, dan Park Jung-woo. Ceritanya berlatar di tahun 1999, zaman di mana internet masih baru dan semuanya terasa lebih sederhana. Film ini ngasih vibe nostalgia tentang persahabatan, cinta pertama, dan kenangan masa muda yang gak bakal terlupakan.

Film 20th Century Girl cerita tentang Na Bo-ra, cewek SMA yang ceria, setia banget sama sahabatnya, dan punya kepribadian yang ceria. Suatu hari, sahabatnya Yeon-du minta tolong ke Bo-ra buat ngawasin cowok yang dia suka, namanya Baek Hyun-jin. Soalnya Yeon-du harus pergi ke luar negeri buat operasi jantung, jadi dia pengen tetep dapet kabar tentang cowok itu dari Bo-ra. Karena sayang sama sahabatnya, Bo-ra pun setuju dan mulai ngelakuin “misi rahasia” itu.

Ternyata pas lagi ngikutin Hyun-jin, Bo-ra malah sering ketemu sama sahabatnya Hyun-jin, yaitu Poong Woon-ho. Dari situ, mereka jadi sering bareng dan makin deket. Awalnya cuma bantuin Yeon-du, tapi lama-lama Bo-ra malah beneran jatuh cinta. 

Sampai akhirnya Yeon-du balik ke Korea, dan semua jadi ribet banget. Ternyata cowok yang Yeon-du suka dari awal bukan Hyun-jin, tapi Poong Woon-ho orang yang juga disukain Bo-ra. Kesalahpahaman itu bikin hubungan mereka bertiga jadi kacau, dan Bo-ra harus ngerelain semuanya. Akhirnya, Bo-ra cuma bisa nyimpen semua kenangan itu di hati.

Film 20th Century Girl sukses banget bikin penonton ngerasa nostalgia sama suasana tahun 90-an. Dari seragam sekolah, warnet, sampai camcorder, semuanya bikin kita ngerasa kayak balik ke masa di mana semuanya masih sederhana. Film ini bener-bener punya vibe hangat dan bikin hati adem, kayak lagi nginget masa sekolah.

Kim Yoo-jung cocok banget jadi Bo-ra. Aktingnya keren bisa bikin penonton ikut ngerasain jatuh cinta, seneng, sampai patah hati bareng dia. Byeon Woo-seok yang jadi Woon-ho juga gak kalah bikin baper, soalnya karakternya kalem, manis, dan tulus banget. Chemistry mereka berdua dapet banget, dan bikin penonton susah move on pas filmnya selesai.

Yang bikin film ini spesial tuh bukan cuma ceritanya tentang cinta pertama, tapi juga tentang kehilangan dan kenangan. Kadang, orang yang pernah hadir di hidup kita cuma bisa kita kenang, bukan kita miliki. Dan film ini nunjukin hal itu dengan cara yang lembut. Endingnya bikin sesek napas, tapi juga bikin sadar kalau cinta pertama memang nggak selalu harus berakhir bahagia buat tetap berarti.

Selain cinta, film ini juga nunjukin arti persahabatan yang tulus. Bo-ra dan Yeon-du punya hubungan yang kuat banget, saling jaga meskipun keadaan susah. Dari mereka, kita belajar kalau kenangan masa muda gak harus sempurna buat bisa indah. Kadang justru karena ada air mata dan perpisahan, kenangan itu jadi lebih berharga.

Moana adalah film animasi yang penuh warna, aksi, dan keindahan visual laut yang realistis. Ceritanya mengikuti perjalanan seorang gadis remaja Polinesia yang berani menghadapi lautan luas demi menyelamatkan bangsanya. Selain menampilkan petualangan seru bersama setengah dewa lucu bernama Maui, film ini juga menyampaikan pesan tentang keberanian, tanggung jawab, dan cinta terhadap keluarga serta komunitas.

Dibuat dengan animasi memukau dan kisah yang terinspirasi dari legenda Polinesia, Moana menghadirkan kombinasi sempurna antara hiburan dan nilai moral. Film ini bukan hanya tentang petualangan di laut, tetapi juga tentang menemukan jati diri dan mengikuti panggilan hati. Cocok untuk penonton dari segala usia, Moana adalah tontonan yang menginspirasi dan menyenangkan.

The Amazing Spider-Man adalah film yang dirilis pada tahun 2012 yang dirilis oleh Columbia Pictures. Film ini memiliki rating 4,6 / 5. Film ini menurut saya adalah film spiderman terbagus yang pernah saya nonton, saya memberikan rating 10/10 karena saya ngena banget sama ceritanya dan spidermannya yang sangat atletik. Cerita dimulai dengan memperlihatkan seseorang pria yang bernama Peter Parker dan sedang berkuliah. Dia disekolahnya sering menjadi photographer dan orang orang disekolahnya suka dengan photo photonya. Saat dia ingin pulang dari kuliahnya dia menemukan temannya yang bernama Flash sedang membully orang lain dan saat itu Flash menyuruh Peter untuk berhenti tetapi Flash malah membully Peter, setelah itu datanglah pacar Flash yang bernama Gwen Stacy dan langsung meleraikan mereka. Setelah itu Peter mulai menyukai Gwen. Cerita berlanjut ketika Peter mencari tahu tentang ayahnya dari sesuatu yang dia temukan di gudang dan mencarinya di google. Setelah itu dia pergi ke gedung yang ayahnya pernah kerja disana, kemudia ia datang dan menipu sebagai anak magang disitu. Kemudian ia jalan jalan di gedung dengan tidak mengikuti anak anak magang yang lain, dan ia mengikuti pria yang menuju ke ruang projek laba laba, kemudian setelah pria itu pergi dia masuk ke tempat laba laba itu lalu masuk ke ruangan yang penuh dengan laba laba. Kemudian ia tidak sengaj memegang salah satu jaring laba laba kemudian laba laba itu turun dan ada salah satau laba laba yang mengigitnya. Lalu cerita berganti di sekolah dengan Peter membuat masalah disekolah dan mengharuskan pamannya yaitu paman Ben ke sekolah dan menemui kepala sekolah, setelah itu paman Ben memarahi Peter, setelah itu paman Ben menyuruh menjemput bibinya yaitu bibi May untuk pulang kerumah saat malam. Tetapi Peter tidak melakukannya sehingga bibi May pulang sendiri dan paman Ben memarahi Peter karena tidak becus. Tetapi Peter malah berbalik memarahi paman Ben dengan mengungkit kedua orang tuanya yang sudah meninggal akibat kecelakaan pesawat. Setelah itu dia pergi dan saat itu pun paman Ben mengejar dan sayangnya paman Ben tertembak oleh seseorang saat mencari Peter. Kemudian Peter berusaha mencari orang yang membunuh pamannya dengan membuat kostum spider. Lalu dia menamai spiderman dengan membantu banyak orang. Kemudian dia memberantas kejahatan dan membantu Gwen dengan menutup identitasnya. Film ini menurut ku film terfavorite dari series Spiderman dengan pemerannya yang badannya bagus dan tinggi.

Jurassic world(2015) is a movie directed by Colin Trevorrow.This film is about the new park named Jurassic world that is build on the original site of Jurassic park,that has operated for years.The park plunges into chaos after the hybrid dinosaur named the Indominus rex got loose.

the movie starred  Owen Grady(Chris Pratt),Claire Dearing(Bryce Dallas Howard),Zach Mitchell(Nick Robinson),Gray(Ty Simpkins),Simon Masrani(Irrfan Khan),Dr. Henry Wu(BD Wong),Barry(Omar Sy),Vic Hoskins(Vincent D'Onofrio).and etc.

This movie is about the two young brothers Zach and Gray visiting Jurassic world to visit their aunt Claire,who is also a manager at Jurassic world.However Claire is too busy climbing the corporate ladder,so she tell her assistant Zara to be with them.

Simon Masrani the owner of the park arrives and together with Claire they go to the special enclosure that housed the Indominus rex,a new hybrid dinosaur that is made by genetic modification.TheIndominus is made with T.rex,velociraptor,and other dinosaurs and animals dna.The first impression is that they don't really know the temperament of this new dinosaur they created.masrani tell Claire to bring  Owen over,as Owen is an expert on dinosaurs.

Owen who is feeding his velociraptors and teaching them to obey orders is met by Vic Hoskins the head of InGen security.Hoskins tries to impress on Owen the importance of using the raptors as weapons,but Owen says no to it.Later,Owen save a new staff member from being eaten by the raptors when he falls into their pit.The way the raptors behave prove that they are very much in line with their instinct and not like house puppies.'

After Claire meets Owen,she takes him to the indominus enclosure to show him the new dinosaur.But a thermoscan check reveals nothing,leading them to believe the indominus has escaped.Owen and two other employees enter the enclosure to check the claw marks on the enclosure wall but it turns out the indominus has not escaped and is still in the enclosure.Claire who was monitoring things,warn them to exit immediately.But the indominus appears and attacks them,killing one of the employees.Owen and the other employee escaped trough the containment door just as it's closing the indominus crashes trough it.The other employee got killed when the indom sniff him out.Owen escaped being scented out by dousing himself with gasoline from under the car he is hiding under.

Soon after this,Masrani sends a special squad to capture the dinosaur,but find that she has clawed out the tracking implant she has.The squad are fooled by its adaptive camouflage and kills the entire team.Gray and Zach who had given Zara the slip,head into dangerous territory in the park with a gyrosphere,not knowing the indominus is on the loose.

Mereka telah berteman sejak kecil dan tumbuh bersama, menghadapi suka duka kehidupan dengan kehangatan, canda tawa, serta persahabatan yang tulus. Drama ini menyuguhkan nuansa hangat persahabatan, keluarga, dan cinta yang penuh nostalgia. Dengan genre Comedy, Family, Slice of Life, drama, dan romance, Reply 1988 berhasil menjadi salah satu seri paling populer karena alur cerita yang sederhana namun menyentuh hati, menggambarkan kenangan masa muda, kehangatan keluarga, serta kisah cinta yang realistis.

Drama ini juga dikenal karena menggambarkan nilai-nilai kebersamaan, pengorbanan orang tua, serta arti sejati dari persahabatan. Meskipun Reply 1988 menyuguhkan banyak nilai positif, drama ini memiliki beberapa kekurangan. Alur kisah cinta yang membingungkan dan mengungkap identitas suami  Deok Sun di akhir cerita membuat sebagian penonton merasa kecewa. Durasi tiap episodenya yang panjang juga membuat beberapa bagian terasa lambat, dan karakter seperti Dong Ryong dinilai kurang mendapatkan porsi cerita mendalam. Akhir cerita yang tidak sesuai harapan sebagian penonton, khususnya penggemar Jung Hwan, juga menjadi sorotan.

Namun, kekurangan tersebut tidak mengurangi makna mendalam dari drama ini. Reply 1988 mengajarkan kita pentingnya menghargai keluarga sebagai tempat pulang yang penuh cinta, arti persahabatan sejati yang bertahan meski waktu berubah, dan makna cinta sejati yang tulus tanpa pamrih. Drama ini juga mengingatkan untuk bersyukur atas hal-hal sederhana, memahami perjuangan orang tua, serta berempati terhadap sesama. Kebahagiaan sejati datang dari kebersamaan, kasih sayang, dan rasa syukur atas kehidupan yang kita miliki.

Cruella

     

     Cruella adalah film live-action Disney yang dirilis tahun 2021 dan dibintangi oleh Emma Stone sebagai Cruella de Vil. Film ini menceritakan kisah asal-usul Cruella sebelum ia menjadi penjahat ikonik di 101 Dalmatians. Berlatar di London tahun 1970-an dengan nuansa punk-rock, film ini menunjukkan perjalanan Estella, seorang gadis berbakat di bidang mode, yang akhirnya berubah menjadi Cruella yang ambisius dan berani.

Salah satu daya tarik utama film ini adalah gaya visualnya yang sangat kuat seperti kostum, tata rias, dan setting yang penuh warna serta berkesan glamor sekaligus gelap. Penampilan Emma Stone dianggap memikat karena berhasil menampilkan sisi ambisius, licik, tetapi juga rapuh dari karakter Cruella. Emma Thompson yang berperan sebagai Baroness juga memberikan akting yang elegan sekaligus kejam.

Alur cerita film ini menarik karena memberikan perspektif baru pada karakter penjahat klasik Disney. Musiknya pun mendukung suasana era 70-an yang penuh energi. Meski begitu, beberapa penonton menganggap durasi film agak panjang dan karakternya agak berlebihan di beberapa bagian.

Secara keseluruhan, Cruella adalah film yang menghibur, penuh gaya, dan memberi pandangan segar tentang sosok Cruella de Vil, cocok untuk pecinta fashion, drama, dan cerita karakter antihero.

        Film Jumbo adalah film yang dirilis pada tanggal Jumbo tayang perdana di bioskop pada tanggal 31 Maret 2025. Film ini diproduksi oleh Visinema Studios, melibatkan lebih dari 420 animator lokal. Pada 1 Juni 2025, film ini menjadi film Indonesia dengan pendapatan tertinggi sepanjang masa, menggusur film KKN di Desa Penari. 

                Film ini menceritakan tentang Don, anak yatim piatu yang sering diolok olok dengan sebutan 'jumbo' karena fisiknya. Suatu hari, ia bertemu dengan seorang arwah bernama Meri yang meminta bantuan Don dan teman temannya untuk disatukan kembali dengan keluarganya. Film ini sangat bagus dan menyentuh hati dengan segala pelajaran hidup yang ada disitu. Film ini juga memiliki grafik yang sangat memukau dan beberapa jokes lucu. Selain itu semua, lagu "Selalu Ada di Nadimu" yang sempat muncul di film ini menjadi sangat populer setelah film ini naik daun. Overall sangat bagus, cocok untuk semua umur. 

 

500 Days of Summer (2009)

 Let's face it. We've all done our share of "dumping". Whether it's the, "Lets just be friends," or the all too familiar, "It's not you, it's me," tactic, as long as you're not on the receiving end it becomes a question of, "How quickly can I get this over with, so I can move on with my life?" Equally, all of us (yes even Brad Pitt) have experienced what it feels like to "be" dumped and the complex emotions that unexpectedly follow. If you're one of the fortunate souls that have managed to escape the throws of relationship hell, you'll probably fare better with renting the newest addition to the Rambo series. For the rest of you who've at one time or another gotten your hearts ripped out of your chests and stomped into a million pieces only to turn you into unshaven, alcoholic hermits on the brink of starvation…this movie is dedicated to you.

Tom (Joseph-Gordon-Levitt) is a wanna-be architect turned professional greeting card writer whose life is thrown for a loop when he suddenly falls for the "new girl" Summer (Zooey Deschanel, Almost Famous). As one who appeared most certainly unattainable at first glance, Tom manages to charm her into what she coins as a, "casual relationship." Eventually, Tom ends up questioning their status with one another, which manages to put strain on the relationship, causing her to request the dreaded "time apart." (500) Days of Summer chronicles the bitter sweet beginnings, the untimely endings and all of that confusing stuff that takes place during the in betweens of a relationship that just isn't meant to be.

(500) Days of Summer is presented in an effective non-linear style that sets it apart from its romantic comedy predecessors, rotating back and forth between dates signified by a simple title card flashing in between scenes (2), (50), (150) and so on to represent the various days in the course of Toms roller coaster of a relationship. This seesaw method of bouncing to and fro successfully manages to force the viewer in a physically engaging shared experience of Tom's feelings, which is something every director aspires to elicit from their intended audience.

The real kudos go to Scott Neustadter and Michael Weber, whose script is practically flawless. You can't help but feel that their authenticity and attention to detail while constructing each scene through appropriately sarcastic and funny dialogue exchanges among all of the main characters involved, particularly those between Deschanel and Levitt which come across as heartbreakingly real and genuine. Their creative way of crafting the simple concept of a break up through unconventional story structuring is a refreshing concept that begs to be seen more in a world where most conventional films tend to play it safe.

Leads Deschanel and Levitt manage to bring something quite special to the screen in their portrayals of Tom and Summer (both "last nameless"). Their chemistry is really what makes the film a joy to watch. Mostly thanks to Neustadter and Weber's superb dialog, both actors seem so comfortable in their roles that their interactions with one another transcend the screen and naturally unfold before our eyes as if we were voyeurs to their unraveling, wanting so much to change the fate of their outcome, but helpless to do so. Deschanel is sexy, carefree and bound to be adored by males everywhere as Summer. Levitt captures the struggle of the neurotic "boy in love" exceptionally through all of his various stages of emotional imbalance.

(500) Days of Summer is a poem to every down and out guy who thinks he's the only one whose ever been dragged through the mill by their own Summer. What undoubtedly ends up making this picture so brilliant is how relatable it is to its victims and victimizers a like. When all is said and done, there is most definitely a lesson to be learned by Tom's experiences. Everyone you meet along the way, whether just passing through or sticking around for awhile, has a purpose. In the end nothing lasts forever, relationships begin, relationships end. Try to be thankful for all the people that broke your heart, they more than likely helped you find yourself in the process …especially you, Summer.

Perfect Blue

 

"Perfect Blue"

        Perfect Blue is one of  Satoshi Kon's best films. This film was released in 1977. There is a sense of unease that permeates perfect blue's point of view towards pop culture. this anime film was ahead of its time. This film was categorized as Psychological Horror and I was absolutely blown away by the mind bending story. I recommend to watch this with subtitles to prevent from misunderstanding some scenes.

      So, the plot starts with a girl named Mima Kirigoe. Mima is a pop idol, who is tired of her typecast image of well...a pop idol. Mima wants to branch out into acting instead. So, Mima leaves the pop idol group she was part of and gets a supporting role in cop a drama.

          The film opens with the protagonist, Mima Kirigoe, performing on a stage as part of her idol group “CHAM!” to an audience of silent otaku with cameras. A group of hecklers begins to disrupt the show, throwing things at Mima on stage. She dodges them adeptly unphased. A frightening sign of  the attention, she has gotten used to, is only the beginning. 

        Fighting breaks out between hecklers and loyal fans, because of course it does. Our lead tries to calm everyone down with this weirdly soft, almost like she's channeling a Disney princess in the middle of a convention hall meltdown. Not exactly the tool you'd pick to shut down a bunch of otaku, but okay. And somehow... it kinda works? At least on the people still paying attention. 

        The hecklers either got bored or maybe they clocked something the rest didn’t. Everything feels just slightly off. That weird, hard-to-place off-ness sticks with the whole film. It’s clearly saying something about fandom, obsession, maybe even how the internet warps all of it, and it does feel timely. But also kind of like you’re watching it through a cracked screen. Intentionally? Maybe. Still weird.

        Mima is an idol who, at the start of the film, announces she’s leaving the group that made her famous to try acting instead. But her past doesn’t really let her move on. She comes across this website that somehow knows way too much about he, like what she bought at the store, what she thought about it, stuff no one should know. She starts to think someone’s watching her, and yeah, she’s right. The stalker starts sending messages, and things slowly shift from unsettling to genuinely disturbing. And then it gets worse...

        Even though there’s some initial humor in watching a movie where the main character has no clue how the internet works, the story still hits today. Because honestly, the ways people can abuse the internet haven’t changed all that much. Watching Mima is like watching someone step into a world of danger that we, as modern viewers, already know too well.

        Mamoru Uchida, Mima’s most obsessed fan, shows up throughout the film as a symbol of the darkest parts of fandom is that mix of dedication and entitlement that turns toxic the second the person they idolize does something they don’t like. He’s not in love with Mima, as in the "person". He’s obsessed with the idea of her, this fake version he’s built up in his head. So when she tries to change and steps outside of that idea. He takes it as betrayal. Mima ends up trapped in a space that was still new back then, but feels terrifyingly familiar now. A space where obsession doesn’t just live, it grows.

       Mima’s not just dealing with her past clinging to her like she owes the world something, she’s also trying to reinvent herself as a serious actress, and it’s clearly eating her up. She stresses over just a few lines, doubting herself constantly, while her two managers argue over what’s best for her career like she’s not even in the room. She makes “choices,” sure, but there’s no one around she actually feels safe being honest with. She doesn’t really want to do half the things she ends up doing, but what other option does she have if she wants to make it? What else can she do?

       By the halfway point, Perfect Blue turns into a full-on mind game. Violent crimes start happening to people close to Mima, and suddenly everything feels unstable. Is the stalker behind it all? Or is Mima actually losing her mind?

       This movie loves misdirection. The entire time I was watching, I couldn’t confidently guess where it was going and that’s exactly what made it so gripping. It’s psychological horror at its best, and a beautiful kind of terrifying. A film about fame gained, but innocence lost. Over its tight hour and twenty-minute runtime, Perfect Blue keeps posing questions, and by the time it gives you the answers, you’re left sitting with the real horror, the implications.

        As much as the story pulled me in, the technical side was kind of a mixed bag. For something made by Madhouse, I expected more visually. The animation shines when it matters, that is in the tension, the breakdowns, the violence. The character designs and background art didn’t really blow me away. Especially when you compare it to something like Demon slayer or One piece.

        That said, the sound design totally made up for it. Even without any standout tracks, the sound was immersive in all the right ways. Whether it was a slow orchestral swell or a chaotic burst of noise, it always nailed the mood. Every twist made my heart race a little harder because of it.

        A lot of people remember Perfect Blue for how brutally it dissects its main character’s psyche, and yeah... that part sticks. But what hit me the hardest was the way it portrays fandom. The way people fall in love with an idea so obsessively that they lash out when it changes. And how that violence, even when directed at one person, somehow erases them. Like Mima stopped being a person to them the second she stepped outside of who they wanted her to be.

        It is definitely a film that will leave you thinking for days on end. A lot of people think animated content is for kids, but this movie does not shy away from mature and haunting content. The voice actors did a superb job. Additionally, the score had this eerie humming turned to chanting which will creep me out every time I hear it. Overall, a film that has taken the voice of anime in television to an ever changing level and inspired its productions of the 21st century.

The Conjuring: Last Rites (2025) adalah film penutup untuk series Conjuring. Series film ini menggabungkan elemen horor klasik dengan drama keluarga, sekaligus mencoba menghadirkan sisi emosional yang lebih kuat dibanding pendahulunya. Ceritanya berfokus pada kasus keluarga Smurl yang dihantui makhluk gaib lewat sebuah cermin tua, namun inti film tetap bertumpu pada dinamika internal keluarga Warren, termasuk konflik dan perlindungan terhadap putri mereka, Judy. Penonton diajak menyelami ketegangan supranatural sambil mengikuti perjuangan emosional Lorraine dalam mendorong Judy menghadapi ketakutannya sendiri, menjadikan film ini lebih dari sekadar kisah hantu biasa.

Series kali ini lebih menonjolkan keluarga Warren, chemistry antar tokoh sangat bagus hingga penonton menjadi ikut terharu, kesal, dan tegang. Nuansa “kisah nyata” dari kasus Smurl juga memberi nilai tambah tersendiri, membuat ketegangan terasa lebih dekat dan nyata. Sayangnya, film ini juga memiliki kelemahan. Beberapa bagian terasa berjalan lambat, dan transisi antara konflik keluarga Smurl dan keluarga Warren kurang mulus. Meskipun adegan jumpscare film ini lumayan bagus, tetapi ada beberapa adegan yang kurang mulus. 

Beberapa karakter pendukung, terutama dari keluarga Smurl, kurang dikembangkan secara mendalam. Konflik dan tragedi yang mereka alami terkadang terasa sekadar latar untuk memperkuat cerita utama Warren, bukan berdiri sebagai horor sentral yang utuh. Meskipun begitu, film ini tetap menawarkan beberapa momen intens yang berhasil membangkitkan ketegangan, serta satu-dua kejutan emosional yang cukup menyentuh. Secara keseluruhan, The Conjuring: Last Rites adalah penutupan yang layak meski tidak sempurna. Ia mencoba menyeimbangkan antara horor, drama, dan penebusan, dengan hasil yang memuaskan namun tidak luar biasa. Bagi penggemar awam dan penikmat horor sejati, film ini tetap wajib ditonton, meskipun film ini mungkin terasa sedikit aman dan kurang menggigit.

Wicked (2024) – Film Review  

Jon M. Chu’s Wicked (Part One), adapted from the iconic Broadway musical and Gregory Maguire’s novel, is an ambitious reimagining of the Land of Oz — one that dares to shift the spotlight from Dorothy to the witches who shaped Oz long before that Kansas tornado ever touched down. With stellar casting, dazzling visuals, and emotionally resonant storytelling, Wicked delivers a cinematic spectacle while offering a fresh, nuanced take on good, evil, and everything in between.

At the heart of Wicked is the unlikely friendship between Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo), a misunderstood young woman born with green skin, and Glinda (Ariana Grande), the popular and ambitious blonde who thrives on attention. Set in the magical world of Shiz University, their journey from rivalry to deep friendship forms the emotional spine of the film.

Cynthia Erivo gives a powerful, deeply empathetic performance as Elphaba. Her rendition of “Defying Gravity” — the musical’s soaring anthem — is a highlight, capturing both vulnerability and fierce determination. Ariana Grande surprises as Glinda, blending comedic timing with heartfelt sincerity, particularly in songs like “Popular” and “For Good.” Their chemistry is convincing and heartfelt, anchoring the film in genuine emotion.

Director Jon M. Chu (Crazy Rich Asians, In the Heights) proves a perfect match for this lavish musical. His flair for spectacle shines through in grand set pieces and dynamic camera work, while still allowing intimate character moments to breathe. The production design is rich and immersive, creating a version of Oz that feels both familiar and reimagined — colorful, gothic, and politically charged.

The music, composed by Stephen Schwartz, remains largely faithful to the stage production, with subtle rearrangements that suit the film format. The songs retain their emotional punch, though the film's pacing occasionally slows to accommodate them. Longtime fans will appreciate the faithfulness to the source material, while newcomers are given plenty of context to connect with the story.

Final Destination adalah film horor spiritual Amerika Serikat yang dirilis pada tahun 2000, tentang sekelompok pelajar yang 'menipu kematian' setelah terhindar dari kecelakaan pesawat ketika sebelumnya seorang dari mereka melihat pertanda kematian mereka, tetapi tidak lama setelah itu, mereka mulai tewas satu per satu setelah kecelakaan misterius yang menimpa mereka. Skripsi film ini awalnya ditulis oleh jeffrey reddick sebagai catatan spekulasi untuk X-Files. (Sutradara) James Wong bekerja sebagai penulis, direktur dan produsen serial itu). Cerita ini memiliki beberapa kesamaan dengan episode The Twilight Zone berjudul "Twenty-Two". Film diproduksi oleh New line cinema. DVDnya diresmikan pada 26 September 2000.

Film ini merupakan film pertama dalam serial Final Destination, dan dilanjutkan oleh Film Destination 2 (2003) lalu Final Destination 3 (2006), The Final Destination (2009) dan Final Destination 5  (2011) yang bertindak sebagai prekuel. Sekuel berikutnya Final Destination: Bloodlines (2025) diumumkan akan dirilis pada Mei 2025.Tony Todd sebagai (William Bludworth) secara resmi menandatangani kontrak untuk mengulangi perannya sebagai karakter tersebut. Dilaporkan bahwa film tersebut akan mengeksplorasi latar belakang karakter tersebut.

Film "Final Destination" berlokasi di Long Island .Tempat-tempat yang digunakan seperti Pantai Jones dan Bandar Internasional John F. Kennedy. County Nassau juga disebutkan dalam film tersebut. Bandar Udara internasional Vancouver digunakan sebagai pengganti Bandar Udara JFK.

Cerita atau Sinopsis Film

Alex Browning, seorang siswa SMA, bersiap menaiki Volée Airlines Penerbangan 180 menuju Paris bersama teman-teman sekelasnya untuk perjalanan akhir tahun. Saat duduk di pesawat, ia tiba-tiba mendapat firasat mengerikan bahwa pesawat akan mengalami kerusakan fatal dan meledak di udara, menewaskan semua penumpangnya. Panik dengan penglihatannya, Alex berusaha memperingatkan orang lain, namun justru memicu keributan dengan saingannya, Carter. Akibat insiden itu, Alex, Carter, sahabatnya Tod, pacar Carter yaitu Terry, seorang guru bernama Ms. Lewton, serta dua siswa lain, Billy dan Clear, dikeluarkan dari pesawat. Sesaat setelah mereka diturunkan, firasat Alex terbukti benar ketika pesawat benar-benar meledak saat lepas landas, meninggalkan mereka semua terkejut dan kebingungan. Para penyintas kemudian diinterogasi oleh agen FBI Weine dan Schreck yang mencurigai Alex karena perannya dalam insiden tersebut.

Tak lama kemudian, tragedi mulai menghantui para penyintas satu per satu. Tod ditemukan tewas tergantung di kamar mandi dalam kejadian yang terlihat seperti bunuh diri, Terry meninggal mengenaskan setelah tertabrak bus di depan teman-temannya, dan Ms. Lewton kehilangan nyawanya ketika rumahnya meledak akibat serangkaian kejadian aneh. Alex semakin yakin bahwa Kematian sedang menagih nyawa mereka sesuai urutan kursi di pesawat. Situasi memuncak ketika Carter mencoba menantang takdir dengan berhenti di rel kereta, berniat mati dengan caranya sendiri, tetapi Alex menyelamatkannya tepat waktu. Namun, pecahan reruntuhan dari tabrakan kereta justru menewaskan Billy. Dari sini Alex menyimpulkan bahwa bila ia berhasil menggagalkan satu kematian, maka giliran akan bergeser ke korban berikutnya.

Sadar bahwa ia telah salah memperhitungkan, Alex kemudian menyadari bahwa target sebenarnya adalah Clear. Ia segera berlari ke rumah Clear dan dengan penuh risiko berhasil menyelamatkannya dari mobil yang hampir meledak akibat kabel listrik. Enam bulan kemudian, Alex, Clear, dan Carter melakukan perjalanan ke Paris untuk merayakan keselamatan mereka. Namun, Alex tetap dihantui firasat bahwa Kematian belum selesai mengejar mereka, dan ketakutannya menjadi kenyataan ketika sebuah kecelakaan hampir merenggut nyawanya. Carter sempat menyelamatkan Alex pada detik terakhir, tetapi rambu jalan yang memantul justru menewaskan Carter, menegaskan bahwa takdir kematian mereka tidak bisa dihindari.

  Penilaian:
  Sebagai film horor-thriller, Final Destination menghadirkan konsep yang unik dan menegangkan, berbeda dari film horor kebanyakan yang mengandalkan hantu atau monster. Adegan-adegan kematiannya kreatif, menimbulkan rasa kaget sekaligus penasaran, walau kadang terasa terlalu tragis atau berlebihan. Secara keseluruhan, film ini berhasil membangun suasana mencekam dan memberikan pengalaman menonton yang seru bagi penggemar genre horor.

  
  

  Saran:
  Film ini tidak termasuk family friendly karena mengandung banyak adegan kematian yang eksplisit, darah, dan ketegangan yang intens. Lebih cocok ditonton oleh remaja dewasa atau orang dewasa yang memang menyukai film horor. Untuk penonton yang lebih muda atau keluarga, sebaiknya memilih film dengan tema yang lebih ringan dan aman.
